Fallow Deer Hunting Season in Spain

Region Date From Date To
Andalucía – our ground near Seville 17th October 14th February
Castilla-La Mancha – our ground near Toledo 8th October 21st February

Spanish seasons are set by each autonomous community, not nationally. The Andalucía dates are the periodos hábiles published by the Junta de Andalucía in the Boletín Oficial de la Junta de Andalucía on 8 June 2026; the Castilla-La Mancha dates are from the orden de vedas published by the Gobierno de Castilla-La Mancha on 12 June 2026. We confirm the exact dates for the estate you book before you travel.

Fallow deer taken on a Spanish monteria

Fallow in Spain is driven game, not a woodland stalk. Bucks and does are taken on the montería, on the same days as red deer, mouflon and wild boar, and both sexes fall inside the same regional open season shown above.

We take fallow on private estates near Seville in Andalucía and near Toledo in Castilla-La Mancha.

Fallow buck in Spanish cover

The day is a driven montería: pegs drawn by lot, hounds working the cover to the line, the game laid out at the end. The format, the licences, the transfers and what is included are set out once on our Spanish Montería page.

Fallow carry the broad palmated antler that makes them the most distinctive beast on the peg, and a Spanish montería is the one format where you are likely to see several in a single drive rather than one animal at the end of a long stalk.
